Social Skills Classes
SOCIAL SKILL CLASSES- OFFERED SEPTEMBER- JUNE
Saturday and tuesday classes available
10 week sessions (offered fall, winter, & spring) that focus on individualized social skills for each student. The program is individualized and geared for each child to reach their maximum potential.
Overview: JDK Social Station offers an inclusion social skills program during the school year. Our classes are for children from ages 3 to 15 years old.
JDK Social Station, LLC is a specialized multi-sensory teaching facility that enhances learning, social, and living skills of children with social deficits. Each week covers a different social skills topic, using our 7 step teaching model approach.We met with each and every new family prior to starting our program to address their individualized goals for their child as part of our intake process. Our Masters Level Therapists and Trained Professional Assistants are highly trained by our staff and BCBAS to support each and every child’s social skills goals.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES IN OUR SOCIAL SKILLS INCLUDE:
Self regulation strategies
Interactive games
Weekly Social Skills topics appropriate to the age group
Peer play skills
Art and music integrated into sessions
Fine motor activities integrated into session
Friendship building activities
Gross motor activities
Individualized goals addressed based on teacher observations, parent input, and IEPS/ progress report goals, etc.
Weekly notes to family to ensure goals are worked on and generalized
Teachers can provide individualized feedback to families to educate them on how to work on the goals addressed
Families will receive an intake to go over their goals prior to the new session. They will also receive a weekly note on what they covered in class. They will also receive the curriculum of social skills topics that will be covered in our classes. Teachers will take data on a specific goal(s) to see progress being made through out the entire 10 week session.
When: throughout the school year Tuesdays and/or Saturdays. Classes run one hour to an hour and a half per session.
